Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Commercial Lawyer to join a dynamic telecommunications company on an interim contract basis. This role is pivotal in providing legal advice and support to the Commercial stakeholders. You will be a key legal team contact and business partner, ensuring the smooth development of products, commercial contracts, and managing customer and supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary legal advisor for Commercial stakeholders, offering guidance on product development, commercial contracts, and customer and supplier relationships.
  • Provide comprehensive support throughout the customer journey, from bid to contract to delivery.
  • Analyse risks within a commercial context and deliver timely, pragmatic, and commercially focused legal advice.
  • Contribute to training and development initiatives within the business.
  • Manage external lawyers on a broad range of matters.
  • Offer regulatory advice and collaborate with the Regulatory team on consultations as needed.
  • Assist in improving legal functions, including reviewing processes, policies, and precedents.
  • Collaborate with Commercial, Procurement, Finance, Risk, Technology, Information Security, and Operations teams as appropriate.
  • Support other Legal team members, potentially including corporate and governance work.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified to practice as a lawyer in England and Wales.
  • 5+ years PQE, though candidates with commensurate experience are welcome.

Required Expertise:

  • Experience in technology, telecommunications, and/or procurement/supply chain contracting. Experience with SaaS or PaaS contracting is a significant advantage.
  • Knowledge of intellectual property rights as they apply to new technology development.
  • Excellent communication, legal drafting, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven track record of providing business, commercial, and solution-focused advice.

This will be a hybrid opportunity requiring a minimum of 3 days based in the office.

The role will likely be paid based on a daily rate basis. Rate dependent upon skills and experience.
