Overview
Medacs Healthcare is currently working with the Tasmanian Health Service to recruit Psychologists, Mental Health Social Workers and Mental Health Occupational Therapists. You must have experience working in Mental Health in a hospital setting. These roles are permanent.
The Tasmanian Health Service is a fully integrated system that delivers a range of services which range from public health and preventative services to primary health and community care. This also includes emergency health services, specialist services and hospital-based treatment in public and private hospitals, residential, rehabilitation and palliative care.
Care is delivered across acute, subacute and community and primary health settings with most healthcare delivered outside of the hospitals in GP rooms, community health centres, private clinics, aged and residential care facilities, and in the home.
The THS has over 300 facilities across Tasmania that provide high quality, accredited services, with exceptionally skilled staff, that are closely integrated with their local communities and the other parts of the health system.
There are roles throughout the state of Tasmania with the main hospitals being:
- Royal Hobart Hospital
- Launceston General Hospital
- North West Regional Hospital in Burnie
- Mersey Community Hospital in Devenport
The employer is seeking expression of interested from the below professions:
- Psychologist
- Mental Health Social Workers
- Mental Health Occupational Therapists
Benefits:
- Up to a total $15 000 inclusive of flights and relocations (removalists) costs.
- Temporary accommodation up to a maximum of 12 weeks or $550 pw is available for temporary accommodation if the department is unable to provide temporary accommodation for the 12 weeks.

Requirements:
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as an Occupational Therapist or Psychologist
- Psychologists must have current clinical psychology or forensic psychology registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
- Social Workers must be eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Occupational Therapists must be eligible for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
- Experience and expertise in the provision of assessment, treatment planning and intervention for children and adolescents with a mental health disorder.
