Description

The Head of Culture is responsible for embedding a culture of learning, engagement and inclusion across the SFO. They will provide high quality leadership and oversight to the SFO’s Learning, Engagement and Inclusion team and work with the Chief People Officer and Head of People to take responsibility for implementing the SFO’s People Strategy and priorities.

This includes day to day implementation of relevant and creative solutions to enhance the engagement and inclusion of SFO’s employees and managers to ensure we attract, retain and promote highly skilled and motivated people in every area of our work. Key elements to the role will be the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse and committed group of managers and their teams; be ‘hands on’ when required, and encourage an organisational culture that supports effective behaviours and ways of working that demonstrate clear commitment to the SFO’s values, mission and vision.

This role will deputise on all learning and engagement matters in the absence of the Chief People Officer.

As a Head of Culture you will be responsible for:

  • Leadership and Management: Lead and manage a team to deliver highly efficient learning, engagement and inclusion services including the delivery of leadership and management training, inclusive behaviours and engagement projects to attract and retain people into the SFO. Championing learning at every opportunity, inspiring your team and managers across the SFO to continually improve the SFO culture and ways of working.
  • Strategy and Planning: Contribute to the development and link with the People Business Partners to contribute to the overall delivery of individual People Plans across all business areas to inform the priorities and work of the team. Use data and metrics to inform P&C strategies and decisions. Relationship and Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with senior internal stakeholders, including the Executive and Senior Leadership teams, People Business Partners, Finance, Commercial and external providers to support the delivery of excellent services.
  • Commercial and Financial Management: Have clear oversight and ultimate accountability for the SFO learning and development budget, and activity budget for engagement and inclusion projects. Review performance of the team against a set of performance indicators that are yet to be agreed and measured against.
  • Service Improvement: Lead the development and delivery of a continuous improvement plan for the learning, engagement and inclusion team working practices, processes and service levels.
  • Maintain and develop learning management systems: exploring innovative and digital solutions to increase the efficiency of the services offered to the SFO for learning and engagement solutions and support.

Job Offer

£67,672 – £75,296 (Job Grade 6/Band A)

Staff applying on promotion within the Civil Service will usually be appointed to the salary minimum or receive a 10% increase on their existing salary. Individuals appointed on level transfer will retain their existing salary.

A Civil Service Pension with an average employer contribution of 27% (details open in a new window)

Location

The role will initially be based at our offices at 2-4 Cockspur Street, London, SW1Y 5BS, in central London, however please note that we are due to move to 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London E14 4PU at a date to be confirmed.

Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK & not overseas. Informal hybrid working arrangements apply & there is an expectation that staff will attend the office regularly. Work pattern & office attendance will be agreed with successful candidates
